La Paz, Mexico
La Paz, Mexico has so much to offer with its quaint little town of local restaurants and bars there is something for everyone. We rented bicycles near the malecon, there are several bicycle shops nearby the Malecon so plenty of bicycles available to choose from. The Malecon is about 3 miles long and they just recently extended the bike path several more miles. Its really a great little town to explore and feel like commercialism has not over run the small town, La Paz takes you back to a little bit of the old Mexico. Â
Another excursion that you should not pass by is snorkeling with the whale sharks. Okay what I like about this is that they monitor how many people can be in the water at one time with a whale shark. We have been in the Philippines and talked with several people that did a whale shark excursion and they do not limit the amount of people in the water- I think this is not healthy for the whale shark. In La Paz there is a 5 person limit in the water with the whale, you can within about 10-15 feet of the whale, it is an unbelievable experience and should be on everyone’s bucket list. Bring your Go Pro because you can get some amazing video shots of your excursion.

where we stayed
We stayed at a “Hotel Catedral” this is located within walking distance of the Malecon. Little local restaurants nearby as well as fun local bars to try a shot of tequila. Check out the rooftop bar as well as the pool for some afternoon relaxation.
