“Fill your life with adventures, not things.
Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.”
CARRY ON, CARRY ON, CARRY ON!!! This is so important, by keeping all of your belongings with you it allow you to be in control of your luggage. How many stories do you hear of people losing their luggage or it being delayed due to the airlines?
Okay so if you have to check in your luggage, here are some things that you should carry on the plane with you: Perscriptions and Medication, a set of clean clothes along with undergarments, makeup or skin products you use – this also includes shampoo. (keep in mind your products must be in containers that are 100 ML or less) Another must is your tablet, cell phone and a portable charger in case the airlines do not have the outlet to plug in. Also make sure you have downloaded netflix, movies as well as the airline might have movies or shows available on line so download their app before takeoff. A good set of headphones is always a must, if its a long flight you might consider some earbuds and then my favorite is my bose headphones. Throw some comfy socks and a lightweight jacket or scarf because the flight can be cold and there may not be blankets available to all passengers. Also get a head pillow- try and order one that is a blow up pillow it will save you tons of space with your carryon luggage.
My last tip is to bring snacks with you on the plane, you never know when a flight might get delayed on the airplane and you are starving. Also bring an empty water bottle that you can take with you through security, you can fill it up once you are through and can have water on the plane, one time on an Asian flight I didnt get any water before I got on the airplane thinking they will serve me on the flight, to my amazement I had to pay for bottled water. – NEVER AGAIN WILL I MAKE THAT MISTAKE!
Packing for the seasons
Fun under the sun
There are some great destinations out there, try going during the shoulder season so you can avoid the crowds. There is nothing more disappointing than seeing Florence, Italy in the summertime and having to fight through crowds to see some of the beautiful architecture.
My favorite time to see Europe, go in October the weather is still nice enough to be in a sweater. Try renting bicycles and see all the quaint little towns along the Rhine River in Germany or explore the beautiful countryside in Switzerland
Baby it’s cold outside
So this is still on my bucketlist after traveling to Europe about 4x per year, I have yet to see the Christmas Markets. Being from Arizona I don’t mind the heat so if I have to go somewhere cold it better be worth it, and seeing a Christmas Market would be well worth being a little chilled.
Best toiletries for traveling
Travel bottles are a must for me on vacations. Although hotels always have their travel size shampoos & conditioners, it’s never the same as bringing your own. These amazing little bottles are silicone and squeezable so you don’t have the struggle of trying to get the last drop.
Burt’s Bees came out with a travel pack that is an absolute must. These travel sized containers include cream cleanser, day lotion, deep cleansing cream, body lotion, foot cream and hand repair cream to keep your skin moisturized and beautiful no matter where you go.
